Yachtsman Steakhouse to Close for 3-Month Refresh, Crew’s Cup Lounge to Close for Refurbishment

|

Walt Disney World has announced upcoming closures for two popular dining locations at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The Yachtsman Steakhouse will close in May 2026 for a 3-month refresh of the space, and the attached Crew’s Cup Lounge will close in February for a 3-month refurbishment. Here’s the official announcement and what to expect.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Closing for 2026 Refresh

Yachtsman Steakhouse will close in May 2026 for a refresh, with reopening expected by August 2026

Unlike the Crew’s Cup Lounge closure, which is listed as a refurbishment, the Yachtsman Steakhouse closure is described as a “refresh”. We most recently had a lovely meal at Yachtsman Steakhouse back in October, and I remarked that the space felt cozy and warm – something of a rarity for modern Walt Disney World restaurants.

While there are no announced details for the refresh, I would imagine that the carpet will be the first to go. I could also see the interior being brightened up with white tones replacing the warmth of natural wood. Light fixtures and other decor could also be the target of a refresh.

While the modern Walt Disney World restaurant pulls from the same visual playbook, I hope that I’m wrong about the changes. Time will tell. Nearby, the Crew’s Cup Lounge is scheduled for a refurbishment ahead of the Yachtsman Steakhouse closure.

Crew’s Cup Lounge Refurbishment

Crew’s Cup Lounge will close February 23, 2026, with reopening expected in May 2026. Guests may see or hear daytime work until the refurbishment is complete.

The Crew’s Cup Lounge will be the first to close as part of the two-phase work. While exact May dates are yet to be announced, I would imagine that Crew’s Cup Lounge will reopen prior to the closure of the attached Yachtsman Steakhouse.

With the Crew’s Cup Lounge work listed as a refurbishment, we’d expect many of the details to remain the same – just spruced up a bit.
