Construction Begins on Encanto Ride Queue Building at Animal Kingdom

Following the installation of the final piece of steel for the ride building, work is now underway to construct the queue building for the upcoming Encanto-themed attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. New aerial photos from friend of the site Bioreconstruct shows the new work taking place. Here’s a closer look!

Encanto Ride Queue Construction

First, a bit of context as to what we’re looking at. In the photo below, we can see the scale model of the Encanto attraction coming to Animal Kingdom. While the Casita at the front of the building will certainly be the focal point from the walkways of the Tropical Americas land, a large show building will be hidden behind it.

As you can see, there are three tiers of show building behind the Casita. The different thirds sit at different heights based on what is taking place inside the building. It is believed that the first third (closest to us in the photo above) will contain the attraction queue. While there is an outdoor portion of the queue, guests will also walk through various parts of the Casita as they wind through the interior portion of the queue.

We imagine that this will work similar to how it works over at the Haunted Mansion attraction. The Casita sits at the front, we enter through the garden to the left, and then wind our way through the house and various indoor scenes. We’ll even include an interesting sentence from the official Disney Parks Blog release as a tease when discussing the queue.

Here’s a look at the Encanto ride building from Bioreconstruct just a couple of weeks ago as the final piece of the ride building was being installed. At the time, we noted that the queue and Casita would go in the triangular space seen in the lower left of the photo below.

Now, in photos posted to social media today by Bioreconstruct, we can see the first pieces of steel installed for the queue portion of the ride complex. More steel is staged nearby. We expect that this installation will be done quickly, a matter of weeks, to allow for the finishing of the buildings and construction of the Casita.
