Good morning from Magic Kingdom, where the paint budget has never been higher. Between the Cinderella Castle repainting, Haunted Mansion repainting, and now the Tomorrowland rocks repainting, there is a lot of fresh paint in the park. To begin our day, we wanted to get our first look at the Tomorrowland entrance rock repainting project. Here’s a look!
Tomorrowland Rock Repainting Project
With the moat drained for the Cinderella Castle repainting project, crews are taking advantage and repainting the rocks found at the entrance to Tomorrowland. However, it looks like we may be treated to a new, darker, more natural look for the rocks versus the purple of the past. In short, it looks like the reign of purple may be over.
That said, the project is still in the early stages, so it’s tough to know what, if anything, is “done”. Before we take a look at the current state of the rocks, here’s a look back at the rocks as they’ve sat for years.

And here’s a look at the work that is currently underway. The new paint is much, much darker than the existing purple. Of course, the current purple has been significantly faded by the sun, so it’s not a perfect apples-to-apples comparison. Here’s a look around!
