Over the past few weeks, Mickey Mouse has been making a special sighting at Magic Kingdom. We made it out to Magic Kingdom recently to enjoy a special Main Street Philharmonic performance featuring Band Leader Mickey Mouse! Here are some photos, along with how you can plan to catch this special moment when you visit Magic Kingdom.
Band Leader Mickey Mouse Joins Main Street Philharmonic
As part of a special appearance, guests can spot Band Leader Mickey Mouse as he joins the Main Street Philharmonic for a single performance each day. This is the only place that you can spot Band Leader Mickey Mouse, and he’s only out for about 5 minutes per day, so make sure you have a game plan, or you might just miss him!
To spot Band Leader Mickey Mouse, you’ll want to plan on watching the 11:05am performance of the Main Street Philharmonic. From what we’re told, Mickey Mouse appears during the 11:05am performance only. While there are other showtimes during the day, you won’t find Mickey Mouse joining those performances.
To find the Main Street Philharmonic, head to the hub area in front of Cinderella Castle and listen for the music! If Cinderella Castle is at the 12 o’clock position in the hub, you’ll find the Main Street Philharmonic at the 8 o’clock position, near the walkway that leads to Adventureland.
While the band begins their performance without Mickey Mouse, he will eventually join in when the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song begins. Band Leader Mickey Mouse will march on over from Cinderella Castle to join in on the fun!
Mickey will hang out for about 5 minutes or so as the band continues playing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse before breaking out into a group dance to Hot Dog. Note that Mickey Mouse does not sign autographs during this dance session, and any photos will be impromptu – there is no traditional meet and greet moment during this appearance.
As quickly as Mickey Mouse arrives, he retreats again to Cinderella Castle, leaving the Main Street Philharmonic to finish up their set with more Disney songs.
Walt Disney World has not officially mentioned that Mickey Mouse is part of the Main Street Philharmonic performance, which means that his appearance is subject to change. That said, our understanding is that Mickey’s appearance will be a regular occurrence during the 11:05am show.
