New Bus Stop Nearly Complete at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

After visiting Magic Kingdom recently, we stopped by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to get an updated look at the new bus stop under construction. This bus stop appears to be one of the final remaining elements of the entrance redesign project that we’ve been tracking for more than three years now here on BlogMickey.com. Here’s a look at the latest progress, which appears to be nearly complete and ready for guests.

New Polynesian Village Resort Bus Stop Nearly Complete

The new bus stop is generally located near where the old bus stop was. That said, the station itself is much closer to the Great Ceremonial House, which should be nicer for guests coming from the west side of the resort complex, including the Island Tower.

We’ll actually start this article with some recent aerial photos from friend of the site Bioreconstruct. These overview photos will give us a better idea of what we’re looking for in the on-the-ground photos.

The new bus loop actually utilizes the former main entrance to the resort along Seven Seas Drive. If you’re driving, just know that you will not be able to enter where you may be used to entering. Instead, you’ll have to make your way closer to the intersection of Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way to find the new Polynesian Village Resort entrance. As work continues along Floridian Way as part of the World Drive North expansion project, the main entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be easier to spot. In the meantime, make sure that you’re approaching the resort from the East along Seven Seas Drive to get into the parking lot. If you approach the main entrance from Floridian Way to the West, you’ll have to make a u-turn. We’re getting sidetracked.

Here’s a look at the current work, along with the new bus loop that we’ll soon take a look at from the ground.

For our on-the-ground coverage, we’ll start from Seven Seas Drive and the former main entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This entrance will be for buses only when it opens. All other traffic should continue along Seven Seas Drive to the new main entrance.

Continuing along the route as if we were in a bus traveling along the new bus entrance, we can see the bus loop in the distance. This roadway used to be the road that would take guest vehicles toward the porte cochere. Now, it’s a bus-only dead end that will eventually lead to the new bus stop.

When we visited, crews were pouring concrete and laying asphalt. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this bus loop open in the next couple of weeks, if not much sooner.

Changing our vantage point, we’re now walking toward the bus loop as if we were coming from the Niue building next to the Great Ceremonial House.

It’ll be great to have a proper bus stop back at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and a dedicated bus lane is certainly going to be welcome.

What we’re really waiting for now is the completion of World Drive North, which should be wrapped up by late 2027 after being delayed by the drama with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
