New aerial photos from friend of the site Bioreconstruct reveal the latest work on the woodcarver carousel coming to the Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In this article, we’ll combine the aerial photos with some recent on-the-ground photos to show you what we can see from areas around Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Here’s a look!

The concept art below shows what the approach to the L-shaped, decagon building will look like.

Ok, turning to the latest construction update, we’ll start with an on-the-ground look at what we can see over the green construction walls. On this main approach to the land across the Discovery Island bridge, we can see a structure rising in the foreground, along with the large Encanto ride building in the distance. We’re going to focus on the structure in the foreground in this article, which is the woodcarver carousel.

In our last update a couple of weeks ago, we started to see the concrete blocks barely peeking over the construction walls. Now, we can see not only the concrete block structure, but a new metal structure. We’ll soon see that this metal structure is the decagon structure that sits over the carousel itself.

Changing our perspective a bit, we can get a better view of the steel structure. When we stopped by, crews were soldering the structure together. The next day, Bioreconstruct would take to the skies to find a completed frame.

Here’s a look at the construction site from Bio. We can see the decagon frame around the concrete slab that will act as the carousel’s base.
