Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be opening soon at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and previews are underway now ahead of the grand opening. With a name like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the music is an important part of the experience. During a media preview, Imagineers offered a bit of insight into the process of narrowing down an expansive music catalog to just five songs. Here’s the latest!

  • Imagineers reviewed more than 100 songs before settling on the final five-track setlist
  • The final lineup features The Electric Mayhem alongside major guest artists
  • Each ride experience features a single randomized song, similar to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  • The courtyard background music loop features 30+ tracks and runs over two hours
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opens May 26, 2026

The stars of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets are The Muppets. More specifically, the house band for The Muppets: the Electric Mayhem. The final song list for the attraction is five songs, but Imagineers told media that there were more than 100 songs reviewed, which included a ton of on-ride testing.

Fans will still recognize the high-speed thrills and energy that make Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster so iconic, while the Muppets bring an entirely new layer of music, comedy, and chaos to the experience.

We went through an extensive list of songs and did a ton of on-ride testing. The team rode Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster a lot and literally listened to tracks in the coaster environment to see what truly worked. After reviewing more than 100 songs, we narrowed it down to the lineup guests will experience today.

The Final Setlist

Here’s a look at the final setlist that guests will hear while riding Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets:

  • Song 2 â€“ The Electric Mayhem
  • Born To Be Wild â€“ The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
  • Love Rollercoaster â€“ The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
  • Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) â€“ The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
  • Walking on Sunshine â€“ The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson

One Song Per Ride, Randomized

The setlist isn’t just five songs playing on a fixed rotation. As we covered when on-ride experience details were first revealed, each L.I.M.O. vehicle will be assigned a randomized song for each ride cycle. That’s a departure from the Aerosmith version, where specific vehicles were tied to specific tracks. It also means no song mashups mid-ride. Each track runs approximately 70 seconds, matching the length of the coaster experience. The approach mirrors how Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind handles its soundtrack, giving repeat riders a reason to come back for more.

The Courtyard Background Music

While the setlist itself has certainly garnered attention, perhaps the most viral news was that Disney completely refreshed the background music that guests will hear in the courtyard in front of the attraction. We broke the news of the full background music setlist, which includes more than 30 songs over more than two hours of background music loop. The 33-track playlist blends classic and contemporary rock with several Electric Mayhem originals woven throughout, spanning the late 1970s through just a few years ago.

What Else Is New at the Attraction

The music overhaul is just one piece of a broader transformation on Sunset Boulevard. The attraction’s iconic 40-foot guitar has received a psychedelic Electric Mayhem-inspired makeover, with a golden piano key at the base nodding to Dr. Teeth. The entrance archway now displays the full attraction title: “G-Force Records Presents Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.”

Inside, guests will find a first-ever Scooter Audio-Animatronic figure created using motion capture technology, penguin audio engineers carried over as a nod to MuppetVision 3D, and a pre-show that mirrors the Aerosmith version’s story beats with full Muppet flair. Sharp-eyed guests can also spot a pair of Aerosmith easter eggs tucked into the background of the pre-show room, honoring the rock legends who called G-Force Records home for nearly three decades.

With the grand opening set for May 26, 2026, it won’t be long before all guests get to hear for themselves which song their L.I.M.O. has in store.

OUR TAKE: We’ll have a full review of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets a little closer to its official opening, but the songs certainly play a role in our enjoyment of the ride.
