Disney World Begins Advertising Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’s Best-Kept Secret

|

For years, the savviest visitors to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge have skipped the long reservation wait at Oga’s Cantina by simply ordering a drink to go. It’s a trick we’ve used plenty of times ourselves over the years. It was a secret that not many guests knew about, which meant there was never a wait! Now, Disney has made it official with dedicated signage outside the bar. The best-kept secret in Black Spire Outpost just became the most-advertised one.

How Oga’s Cantina To-Go Queue Works at Galaxy’s Edge

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • Oga’s To-Go has existed for years, but Disney never advertised it until now.
  • A branded banner marks a dedicated queue to the right of the cantina entrance.
  • No reservation required: join the line, head in when called, order, and walk out with your drink.

A Long-Running Trick Finally Gets a Sign

If you’ve ever stood outside Oga’s Cantina wishing you could get one of those galaxy-famous cocktails without a reservation, you already understand the appeal. The to-go option has quietly let guests do exactly that for years, no advance booking required.

What’s changed is the signage. A new branded banner now hangs near the entrance reading “Oga’s To-Go Queue,” complete with the cantina’s chalice logo in Aurebesh. While the quiet, word-of-mouth advertising was perfectly in-story for the outpost of Batuu, it wasn’t the best for business. Now, Disney is advertising the walk-up queue, and it has changed the game.

The process itself is simple. Join the queue to the right of the cantina entrance, wait your turn, and walk inside when a cast member waves you in. From there, you place your order at the bar and carry your drink right back out into Black Spire Outpost. No loitering in Oga’s bar.

The process is quick once you’re inside. There is a single spot to place your order, squeezed in between patrons. Once you place your order, you settle up and leave. A Cast Member watches you the entire time to ensure that you leave once you’ve paid.

Unfortunately, now that it’s advertised, it’s a popular option. We ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for just a handful of groups this afternoon!

Why This Matters for Your Next Visit

Oga’s Cantina reservations remain coveted among guests who want the full Star Wars experience. The to-go queue sidesteps that entirely, which is a win on a busy park day.

It’s worth noting the experience is different. You miss the DJ R-3X atmosphere, the themed interior, and the chance to linger, all of which are reasons many guests love the cantina in the first place. But if your goal is simply to sip a Jedi Mind Trick (or the superior Jet Juice) while strolling Batuu, the newly advertised queue makes that easy.

Of course, this is a Disney’s Hollywood Studios-exclusive experience. You won’t find Oga’s Cantina to-go in Walt’s park out in Disneyland.
