Universal Orlando has moved up the closing date for Fast & Furious โ€“ Supercharged. The attraction is closing in preparation for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. Universal previously announced a 2027 closing timeframe, but now says the last day to ride Supercharged will be August 16th.

Universal shared the update through its official UOAP (Universal Orlando Annual Passholder) channel. The message tells passholders the attraction is closing “next month.” It sets a firm last operating day of August 16th.

Universal had previously announced a 2027 closing timeframe for Supercharged. Generously, that meant January, which means that the closure has been moved up by at least 5 months.

Universal frames the closure as clearing the way for Hollywood Drift. The new outdoor coaster continues construction on the site of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Universal has not shared an opening date beyond a general 2027 target.

The passholder message also teased a closer look at Hollywood Drift, though Universal gave no date for that reveal. Universal’s note skips any mention of send-off plans for Supercharged, if it has any planned.

Story So Far

  • Universal first confirmed Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift was replacing Supercharged as the marquee attraction for the IP, as we reported in January, with an opening targeted for 2027.
  • Universal Creative later revealed the coaster’s ride vehicles ahead of the Hollywood version’s summer debut. That reveal confirmed the Dodge Charger, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline GT-R, and Toyota Supra as the four vehicle designs.
