Walt Disney World has started construction work just outside Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. Green walls and hedges now block (most) guest views of the site. The area sits along the walkway to the right of the restaurant’s main entrance. Here’s a look at the work, including our guess as to what might be coming.

We stopped by Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom recently and found a new construction site taking shape. It sits just steps from the restaurant’s main entrance. Green construction walls now line the walkway on the right side of the building. Rolling hedge planters sit in front of the walls, blocking the area from guests, while also serving as the only entrance for overnight work.
Disney has cleared the site of vegetation that previously stood in the area. Several bushes and trees are gone. What remains behind the barrier is a patch of dirt. Some construction materials are staged nearby, and a green fabric-wrapped wall blocks the area off.
The walls and hedges sit along the path connecting the Crystal Palace entrance area to the entrance of Adventureland and the Cinderella Castle hub area. Guests walking through will notice the enclosed zone. They should still be able to pass by without any real disruption.
What Is Disney Building?
We reached out to Disney for more information on the project but have not heard back as of publish time.
The cleared land sits directly next to a well-traveled guest walkway, just outside a table service restaurant. If I had to guess, I would say that Disney is building a dedicated stroller parking area. That would help move strollers out of the nearby walkway.
Disney has made similar moves elsewhere in Magic Kingdom to keep walkways clear of parked strollers. That said, this is speculation for now. We’ll update this story if Disney confirms what’s actually being built, or if it becomes obvious.
