The Beak and Barrel is now offering a walk-up list option in the My Disney Experience app. A walk-up option opens a new booking path for the Adventureland tavern that has been reservation-only since it opened. A “Join Walk-Up List” button has been added to the app alongside the location’s existing reservation options. The walk-up offering will be opened as capacity allows. Here’s a closer look at the new option!

A New Way Into Magic Kingdom’s Best Bar

Since The Beak and Barrel opened in Adventureland, snagging a table has required booking an advance dining reservation. Availability would be booked weeks in advance, as we reported when reservations sold out within hours of going live. The pirate-themed tavern, which sits near the exit of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, used to rank among the hardest reservations to land at Walt Disney World. That has been changing, and the next step appears to be allowing walk-up availability.

Guests without an advance reservation can now add their name to a walk-up list when it is open. This is similar to the walk-up system used at other high-demand table-service locations across Walt Disney World. We haven’t yet joined the walk-up list ourselves to test wait times or availability, so it isn’t clear how many walk-up spots are being made available per day or how they’re allocated alongside existing reservations. That said, Walt Disney World says that the walk-up feature is live.

It will be interesting to see what kind of walk-up availability The Beak and Barrel will have in practice. The best way to ensure that you have a chance to experience Magic Kingdom’s best bar remains through Advance Dining Reservations. Advance reservations still appear to be bookable through the app alongside the new walk-up option, so guests with existing reservations don’t need to change any plans.
