D23 has released a clearer look at the logo for Walt Disney World’s 55th Anniversary. The design works a “55” into a Mickey Mouse silhouette, marking Walt Disney World’s upcoming anniversary. A Closer Look at the Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary Logo
The new logo creates a globe-and-ears mark with a large 55 above a globe. The lower half of each 5 curves to form Mickey’s ears on either side of the globe. A banner reading “Magical Years” wraps around the emblem and serves as the subtext for the logo. The section of the image that isn’t part of the Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary logo is the “OF STORYTELLING” text. That only pertains to the D23 Gold Member event that we’ll cover below. The retro feel of the logo leans into Walt Disney World’s history instead of a more modern, minimalist treatment.
D23 Event Celebrating WDW 55th Anniversary
D23 Spotlight Series: 55 Magical Years of Storytelling takes place on Sunday, October 4th, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, an original Opening Day landmark. It features two segments built around the Walt Disney Archives, running from 6:00pm to approximately 7:30pm in the Ballroom of the Americas.
Disney Legend Joe Rohde, the longtime Imagineer, opens the evening with a session on storytelling. He’ll reflect on his 40-year career with Walt Disney Imagineering. From there, Archives staff and Imagineers turn to the history of Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, one of Walt Disney’s own passion projects. Archivists plan to share newly acquired items tied to the attraction. Imagineers working on the Carousel of Progress reimagining, currently underway at Magic Kingdom, will also preview some of what’s coming when it reopens.
All attendees receive a limited-release event pin featuring the classic Walt Disney World Resort logo. VIP ticket holders get additional perks, including a dessert reception at the West Rotunda with two character meet-and-greets. Fireworks viewing from the Contemporary Resort follows, running from 9:00pm to roughly 9:20pm.
Ticket Pricing and On-Sale Details
Panel-only tickets cost $59 plus a $3 processing fee, while VIP tickets run $159 plus the same processing fee. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 28th, at 10:00am PT and 1:00pm ET. D23 Gold and General Members can reserve up to three additional guest tickets alongside their own.

- The panel runs from 6:00pm to approximately 7:30pm
- The VIP dessert reception runs from 8:00pm to 9:00pm
- Fireworks viewing for VIP guests runs from 9:00pm to approximately 9:20pm
The event is open to guests age 13 and older due to the nature of the presentation and location. Anyone under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian who also holds a valid ticket.
