Updated photos show crews have continued filling in the abandoned in-ground lighting channels at EPCOT’s World Celebration Gardens with concrete. The work covers additional sections of the curved paver pathway near the central planter, extending the progress we first documented last week. Concrete now traces the same curved lines the lighting strips once occupied. Rolling hedge construction barriers remain in place along part of the walkway.
World Celebration Gardens In-Ground Lighting Channels Continue to Be Filled In

The in-ground lighting that was once planned to be a showstopping element of World Celebration Gardens continues to be removed and replaced with concrete. Crews removed the lighting strips and began filling the empty channels with concrete last week. The new work comes after years and years of issues with the in-ground lighting.
The continued fill-in work reinforces that Disney is abandoning the in-ground lighting effect, not repairing it.
