New aerial photos from friend of the site Bioreconstruct show a multi-story building taking shape backstage at Magic Kingdom. It sits behind the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, next to one of the parade warehouses west of Adventureland. It’s unclear what the building will be used for, but we have a look at the current state of construction.
New Multi-Story Building Takes Shape Backstage at Magic Kingdom Near Adventureland

What the New Aerial Photos Show
The photos show steel framing rising several stories above the site, with crews still working through the structure’s upper levels. A tall precast concrete column stands on one side of the footprint. Its shape and placement suggest it will house an elevator shaft.
A canal runs along the backstage area west of Magic Kingdom, and the building sits right against it. That same canal is where the Electrical Water Pageant pontoons are staged. To the south, a laydown yard full of staged materials, ductwork, and precast panels stretches toward the tree line. A green parade warehouse borders the site on the other side, so the new building takes shape in the narrow backstage corridor next to that warehouse and the water.
An Unannounced Building with a Prior Known Tenant
Disney has not announced a project tied to this building, so its future purpose remains unclear. This site was previously used by Disney Performing Arts, though it’s not yet known whether that use will continue once construction wraps.
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District labels the site “MK Park 3 Support Building” in its records. Park 3 covers the Adventureland, Frontierland, and west side portion of Magic Kingdom. That’s a similar area of the park that houses Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land. While the lands are not necesssarily close to this new building, it’s possible that part of its function could be to support those new areas.
