Wolfgang Puck Set to Quietly Close at Disney Springs Next Week

According to the Walt Disney World website, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is set to close at Disney Springs next week. Following rumors of its permanent closure, Walt Disney World has updated its website to reflect that the venue will be closed starting Monday, September 14th. Reservations have been removed from the site starting September 14th, with the restaurant listed as open for every date through Sunday, September 13th. Walt Disney World has not responded to multiple requests for comment about the closure, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill has not made any public announcement of its own. Seemingly, the doors will just close, and that’ll be it.

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill Closing at Disney Springs Without a Public Announcement

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • Reservations end after September 13th, with no dates bookable from the 14th onward
  • Neither Disney nor Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill has issued a public statement on the closure
  • The closure would end Wolfgang Puck’s presence at Disney Springs, dating back to 1997

Reservations Cut Off After September 13th

The Walt Disney World website currently shows availability at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill through Sunday, September 13th. From Monday, September 14th onward, the restaurant no longer appears as bookable. Availability resumes as normal for the other Town Center restaurants around it.

Guests who have reservations from September 14th onward can still see the reservations in their My Disney Experience account, and there has been zero communication from either Walt Disney World or Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.

Disney has not added any signage, banner, or note to the page acknowledging a closure. A guest browsing the website would not be aware of what appears to be a permanent closure of the venue.

We reached out to Walt Disney World for comment on the closure and any future plans for the space. As of publishing, we have not received a response.

No Word From Puck’s Team Either

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill has not announced a closure at this time. Should the September 13th date hold, the doors would simply close. Disney has not named a replacement concept for the space.

The End of Puck’s Disney Springs Run

Wolfgang Puck’s presence at what is now Disney Springs dates back to September 1997. That’s when the original Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafรฉ opened at what was then Downtown Disney. That location closed in August 2017, and the site was eventually redeveloped into Jaleo. The current Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill opened in the Town Center neighborhood in November 2018 after a new building was constructed.

We visited on opening day and came away impressed with the menu, particularly the wood-fired pizzas and the bruschetta. A separate fast-casual location, Wolfgang Puck Express, operated in the Marketplace neighborhood for years. It closed permanently in October 2020. If the Bar & Grill closes as scheduled, Wolfgang Puck’s name would disappear from Disney Springs entirely for the first time since 1997.

We’ll continue watching for an official word from Disney or from Wolfgang Puck’s team. This article will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.
