New Structure Under Construction for Mysterious Project Fedora at Hollywood Studios

New aerial photos from friend of the site Bioreconstruct show Project Fedora taking shape at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The photos show what appears to be a steel pipe framework beside the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. It is the first vertical framing at the site since work began near the stunt show in March. Disney has not announced what Project Fedora is.

  • A recap of the Project Fedora timeline since March

Bioreconstruct’s photos look down on the plot behind the rolling planter wall that has screened it from the walkway near Backlot Express since March. Where earlier visits found dirt, wooden forms, and rebar, the site now contains a pipe framework with vertical posts. The work sits next to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular exit, with the Backlot Express silo tower close by.

A Pipe Framework Takes Shape Behind the Planters

Closer shots show what appears to be a steel pipe framework. Angled and horizontal pipes join the vertical posts. The posts sit on square concrete pads. It’s the same anchored concrete pad we spotted earlier this month, which had a steel plate and anchor bolts.

Lumber stacks, timber formwork, and survey flags surround the steel structure as Disney continues work during the overnight hours. For fans waiting on answers as to what this mysterious project may be, the framework is the most tangible clue yet.

Permits Point to Themed Work

Disney filed two Notices of Commencement on May 15th for general construction at the site. One names Artistic Entertainment Services LLC, a company that has installed set pieces for Donald’s Dino-Bash and Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land. That track record points to themed elements as part of the plan.

Walt Disney Imagineering filed a separate permit on June 10th for signage near the stunt show, though it is unclear whether the two projects are connected. The name Project Fedora could also point to an Indiana Jones connection, which would give fans of the franchise a new reason to linger in the area before or after the show.
