Cast Members are kicking off opening night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party with brand-new costumes at Magic Kingdom. The new look trades the tree-print shirts and candy-striped aprons of past parties for a bright red design covered in gingerbread. It follows a similar overhaul as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party earlier this year. Here’s a closer look, thanks to the Tomorrowland wristband distribution team!

  • How the new look connects to this year’s Halloween party costumes.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom tonight, November 8th, for the first of 25 party nights this season. Opening night sold out weeks ago.

The Cast Members handing out wristbands are some of the first people party guests meet. This year, they’re dressed for the occasion in a completely new costume.

Saying Goodbye to Tree Prints and Candy Stripes

Before this year, Very Merry Cast Members wore a white shirt covered in small evergreen trees, with red buttons and a white collar. One version paired it with red pants, a bright green bow tie, and a Santa hat. Another layered a red and white candy-striped pinafore over a ruffled white apron and red skirt, finished with an oversized peppermint-striped hair bow.

Those aprons and peppermint bows gave the party a cheerful, old-fashioned feel. They looked a lot like the plaid aprons Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Cast Members wore until this year. Disney swapped those for a new look in August.

A Bright Red Gingerbread Look for 2026

The new costume centers on a red button-up shirt with an allover print of gold gingerbread cookie shapes and stars, mixed with white line-art snowflakes and swirls. Cast Members roll the sleeves to show white contrast cuffs, and a dark green bow sits at the collar. It’s a far brighter look than the white tree-print shirts it replaces.

Cast Members wear dark green pants or shorts with a black belt. We’re told these are the same bottoms that debuted with the new Halloween party costumes. None of the Tomorrowland Cast Members we met wore an apron or skirt, although there is an apron option for Cast Members working in restaurants.

Gingerbread shows up well beyond the costumes this year. The Very Merry party menu includes a Gingerbread Milkshake at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and Gingerbread Cheesecake Beignets at Golden Oak Outpost. Smiling gingerbread artwork also wraps the bins near the Tomorrowland wristband station.

A big thank you to the Tomorrowland wristband distribution team for taking a few minutes to pose for photos ahead of tonight’s party!
