We’re hearing that runDisney will discontinue both the Tinker Bell Half Marathon and the Star Wars Light Side Half Marathon Race Weekends in 2018.
runDisney has already postponed and missed the sign-up dates for both events. Runners were supposed to be able to sign up for the 2018 Light Side Half Marathon on March 14th and the Tinker Bell Half Marathon on June 27th, but both events remain closed for sign-ups.
Early registration for Annual Passholders did occur for the 2018 Light Side Half Marathon on March 7th, but general public registration was postponed the very next day. Runners who signed up have yet to be notified of the event status.
To add to the confusion of the West Coast races, we’ve been told that the cancellation of the two half marathons is to make way for a full marathon at a later time.
Apparently the Disneyland Half Marathon and Super Heroes Half Marathon are safe.
runDisney hasn’t made any announcements regarding the cancellation of the events, so we’ll treat this as rumor until further information is given.
