Guests looking for a Ziploc bag to keep their phones dry when riding Splash Mountain are going to have to wait a bit longer.
Disney had originally intended to distribute themed Ziploc bags to guests on August 1st as part of a new partnership with the plastic bag company. The bags would have featured graphics depicting Splash Mountain. Unfortunately for Ziploc, Disney announced the slow removal of plastic products from their resorts just days before the new partnership would have put a plastic bag in the hands of each guest riding the attraction. Of course, the optics of such a move weren’t lost on guests, with many taking to social media and forums expressing their confusion with the timing of the Ziploc partnership.
It was decided that the Ziploc bag distribution would be delayed until an unknown later date, although we’re told that the themed Ziploc bags are on site. The partnership isn’t in jeopardy though, as Disney has continued to distribute Ziploc plastic bags over at Epcot as part of a refreshed Kidcot experience.
