A new permit filed with the state outlines the extensive work to be done at the Magic Kingdom entrance. The “Walk Around the World” bricks are going to be removed soon and some simple cosmetic adjustments and new pavement pour are in the works. It doesn’t look like we’ll see a huge overhaul like we’re seeing at Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and soon at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Here’s a look at some of the permit images. As you can see below, the impact of the demolition will lead to an expansion of a nearby pond as well. Disney has not announced a start or end date for this project.
As a reminder, you can buy a commemorative paver on ShopDisney.com!
