The pace of the Catastrophe Canyon demolition is really picking up now. We went out to Hollywood Studios this afternoon to check out the latest progress.
An overview of the demolition.
It’s only taken a year and a half, but Catastrophe Canyon is finally getting leveled.
Why this matters
Catastrophe Canyon was a part of the former Backlot Tour, which closed in September of 2014. Since then, we haven’t seen any movement or work being done on the entire area. It’s time for Disney to kick demolition of the entire area into high gear as they prepare for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land. About 1/3 of the total park will be closed on April 2nd to allow for construction of the two lands.
So sad to say goodbye, but I’m excited to see what will come in the near future!
