Fleur De Lys – 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

As part of our 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden coverage, we bring you the Outdoor Kitchen review for Fleur De Lys. Located at the France Pavilion, this Outdoor Kitchen features cuisine and treats inspired by France.

Tarte a la Tomate Provencale – $5.50

Provencal Tomato Tart with Sauteed Onions, Fresh Thyme, and Rosemary on a Flakey Pastry Crust

What appears to be a personal-sized pizza at first, is actually a wonderful flat tart. The tomato works well with the other elements and the only thing we didn’t enjoy was the perimeter crust. It was impossibly difficult to eat due to how hard it was. We found ourselves cutting it into slices like a pizza and then just neglecting the crust.

Canard Confit Aux Gnocchi a la Parisienne – $5.75

Braised Duck Confit with Parisian Gnocchi

This was a miss for me. I even hesitate to use the word duck because it actually tasted exactly like turkey to me. I would consider this a pass if you’re in the market for actual duck. That said, the gnocchi was nice, just not good enough to save the dish.

Macaron au Chocolat en Sucette – $4.95

Large Chocolate Macaron Lollipop

This was one of our 8 favorite items we tried at the festival. For those who love chocolate, this is one not to be skipped. It’s a chocolate macaron with rich chocolate filling and crunch balls. It’s a perfect snack to take with you too, as it’s served in lollipop form.

La Vie en Rose Frozen Slushy

Grey Goose Orange Vodka, St. Germain Liqueur, White and Red Cranberry Juice

France delivers a wonderful slushy every festival and the 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is no different. A wonderfully refreshing slushy is flowery and light in taste – perfect for a hot day walking World Showcase.
