REVIEW: The Edison’s Farmhouse and Cheese Burger of the Month

To celebrate National Toasted Cheese Month, The Edison has debuted the Farmhouse and Cheese Burger. This is the first Burger of the Month for The Edison and it’s a big one!

Farmhouse and Cheese Burger – $24

Layers of fontina, muenster, gruyere, and alpine swiss between four slices of bread with a signature blend of sirloin, shortrib, brisket, and smoked bacon

We’ve been to The Edison more than any other restaurant at Disney Springs this year, and I’ve had a love/hate relationship with their burger offerings. We absolutely love the Lamb Burger, but couldn’t care less for their namesake burger – The Edison. The Farmhouse and Cheese burger falls somewhere in the middle.

You’re essentially getting a burger in between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Layers of thick, flavorful cheese ooze with each bite and do National Toasted Cheese month proud.

That said, the burger still isn’t great. Their signature blend of sirloin, short rib, and brisket tends towards the dry side and ultimately, make this a one-and-done burger for us. Visually, it looks great, but it’s dry.

We love the idea of a Burger of the Month, but suggest a better recipe for the actual burger itself before committing to a monthly offering. Between D-Luxe and Homecomin’, Disney Springs isn’t short on good burgers. Despite the absolutely delicious blend of cheeses, and the fun concept of bookending the burger with grilled cheese sandwiches, the Farmhouse and Cheese earns a pass from us.
