Disney has released a few new details for Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Not only has Disney confirmed the location that we reported – the Sunset Showcase – but they also give us a glimpse into what the “show” will consist of.
To kick things off, Lightning demonstrates what he’s learned over the years by using his brand-new, state-of-the-art racing simulator and its wraparound screen. Of course, as this seasoned racer has discovered throughout his career, things don’t always go according to plan, and he has to think fast to get back on course.
With Tow Mater, Cruz Ramirez and the gang from Radiator Springs rooting him on, Lightning gears up for the challenge. Will he emerge victorious? Speed on over to find out.
It appears that the show will utilize the existing wraparound screens and call them a racing simulator. Here’s a look at the wraparound screens as seen during a Disney Parks Blog meetup that we attended.

In addition to the show, guests will be able to meet the relocated Cruz Ramirez in the Sunset Showcase courtyard.
Disney says that Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will debut in early 2019.
