We made it out to Magic Kingdom this morning to check out the all-new Sliced Roast Beef Sandwich at Lunching Pad and decided to check up on the Cinderella Castle pathway and moat area project. The main goal of the project is to widen the pathway on the Liberty Square side of Cinderella Castle, so we’ll start there.

Since we last checked up on the project, forms and rebar have been added to the bank of the drained Cinderella Castle moat to expand the walkway. It looks like we’ll get an expanded walkway that’s roughly double the size of the current walkway.

You can see how much available space will be filled in between the Sleepy Hollow seating area and the rebar and form.

Walking down the pathway a little bit we can get a good idea of the amount of expansion planned.

On the Tomorrowland side of Cinderella Castle, the moat remains drained, with the only visible work being a repainting of the exterior of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

Disney hasn’t stated a timeline for the project, but with the 50th Anniversary “around the corner” in October 2021, we are happy to see some work on what has been considered a traffic choke point for some time now.
