Bongo’s Cuban Cafe Set to Close in August at Disney Springs

Bongo’s Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs will close in August, owner Gloria Estefan told the Orlando Sentinel earlier today.

Long-rumored to be closing due to the Disney Springs overhaul, Estefan said that she and husband Emilio want to take the restaurant in a new direction and have found a new home at the Margaritaville Resort about 10 minutes from Walt Disney World.

The vacancy is just the latest in a series of celebrity chef overhauls or vacancies at Disney Springs. Planet Hollywood, Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill, Homecomin’, Morimoto Asia, and Jaleo are just a few others.

Disney has not confirmed the closure via any of their official channels, but we expect that they will shortly. There has been no announced future plans for the space.
