Fans looking to get into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between opening day on May 31st and June 23rd only have one option left, buy their way in with a Disneyland Resort hotel reservation. The free reservations opened up today at 1pm est and “sold out” in just over 100 minutes.
Disneyland has stated time and time again that you must have a reservation to enter the land between May 31st and June 23rd. Starting on June 24th, a virtual queue will be put in place for guests looking to get into the land, but no advanced reservation will be required.
Many guests reported a slow start to the reservation process, with a nearly 9 minute delay between the 1pm est opening of the reservation registration period and the first reports of successful reservations. Disneyland’s website never crashed, despite the high demand put on securing a reservation.
When the land opens on May 31st, the Rise of the Resistance attraction will not be open, but the highly anticipated Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be ready for guests. The rest of the land such as shops and restaurants will also be ready for opening day.
Walt Disney World has not announced the need for a reservation when the land opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th.
