Just a few weeks ahead of the highly anticipated opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the new bag check structure has now fully opened. Previously we saw about two thirds of the structure open and operational, but when we visited the park this morning we found that all sections are now open.
Here’s a look around the area with all the walls down this morning.
We start with the walk into the park from the parking lot. From here, you can see the majoroty of the structure is facing the parking lot and parking lot tram drop off.
Guests with no bags should walk towards the curve in the structure.
Disney was using the new section this morning. It’s likely that the majority of guests using this entrance will be coming from the Disney Skyliner, buses, or watercraft.
There are three exits – one towards the parking lot, one towards the Disney Skyliner, and one towards watercraft.
Once we get past bag check, we can see the vast improvement in space. If Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge turns out to be even half as popular as Disney expects, lines to enter the park will extend into this area.
Beyond the ticket kiosks, it’s business as usual with the tap points and main entrance to the park remaining unchanged during the bag check work.
