More Disney Skyliner Evacuation Training Underway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

As we approach the official opening of the Disney Skyliner gondola system on September 29th, every aspect of the system is going through final testing. That includes the evacuation procedures along various points of the route. While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, we noticed that Reedy Creek Fire Department and local fire departments were once again testing various methods of retrieving guests if an evacuation is necessary.

As you can see in the photos above, a fire truck was used as part of the evacuation testing as crews readied another piece of lift equipment in the foreground. Eventually, crews got the lift into place for what would likely be a more comfortable evacuation.

Between the preparations today and what we’ve seen in the past (including over water), it looks like Reedy Creek Fire Department and Disney as a whole have good procedures in place to get guests off of the Disney Skyliner gondola system if needed.
