REVIEW: New Surly Sarlacc Adds Alcoholic Edge to the Most Refreshing Drink at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Mixed in with the hybrid “Themed” menu name changes today at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the addition of the Surly Sarlacc. After our long trip to Batuu this morning, we were parched and decided to give this new concoction a try…and yes, they serve it at breakfast as well as lunch and dinner.

Surly Sarlacc – $13

The first thing we noticed about the drink was the price. At $2 cheaper than the Coruscant Cooler, we imagine guests might flock to this drink as they save their credits for a lightsaber or game set of Sabacc.

If you’ve ever had the Sour Sarlacc, this is essentially just an alcoholic version of that. If you haven’t had the Sour Sarlacc, it’s a sugary, tropical drink that presents some limeade and mango flavors.

This version does add the Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka as the kick. It’s not overly present like the Coruscant Cooler, which makes this a much more refreshing drink. It’s a wonderful option for the 90-degree “fall” weather we’ve been experiencing here in Central Flori…Batuu.

It’s worth noting that with the addition of the Surly Sarlacc, the non-alcoholic Sour Sarlacc can only be found in Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo now.

Overall, it’s a solid drink that should play well with the majority of travelers. It’s not very strong, but with the exception of the Jet Juice at Oga’s Cantina, there really aren’t strong drinks on Batuu. If you’re looking for a refreshing drink with a little bit of an edge, the Surly Sarlacc is a great option.
