Welcome to a review of the holiday treats at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We’ll be running around Hollywood Studios today, trying some of the treats and eats available during the holiday season at the park. Let’s take a look at some of the treats you can find at Sunset Ranch!
Alcoholic Hot Cocoa Flight – $13
Location: Fairfax Fare, Woody’s Lunch Box, Dockside Diner
The star of holidays past has returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year! The hot cocoa flight consists of three types of alcohol added to the same hot cocoa base.
As far as each was concerned, the Bailey’s with cinnamon was the perfect pair. The cinnamon met the nose nicely and the Bailey’s was a smooth finish.
The next smoothest was the Stoli Vanil vodka. With just a hot cocoa and whipped cream mixture standing between you and some vanilla flavored vodka, it still has a bit of a bite to it.
The strongest drink in both alcoholic taste and flavor was the Jim Beam Black Cherry. This drink has the same ingredients as last year’s, and it was just as good! The rich cherry flavor carried the hot cocoa very well which we really enjoyed in each sip.
Caramel Apple Verinne – $4.99
Location: Catalina Eddie’s only
The caramel apple verrine has many layers of flavor hidden below the caramel topping. These layers include a chocolate pudding on bottom and an apple pie filling halfway down – think of it as a deconstructed Caramel Apple. The textures and flavors work well together to make a very mature dessert, but still with a fun twist of the white chocolate Mickey and Minnie topper.
Olaf’s Chocolate Marshmallow Verrine – $4.99
Location: Fairfax Fare only
The Olaf verrine include a layer of chocolate cake, frosting, marshmallows, frosting, frosting, and more frosting. It’s a silly amount of blue frosting that maybe only a smurf could appreciate. The flavors here aren’t complex, but the textures between the marshmallows and crunch work well together. This isn’t your adult treat, but the kids will love it.
