Big Changes in 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Route Takes Runners Through Blizzard Beach; Skips ESPN Wide World of Sports

The map for the 2020 Walt Disney World marathon is out, and the route is vastly different from years past. First, here’s an overview of the entire route. As you’ll see, the start and end of the race will be at Epcot, something that is the same as years past. Runners will actually head back into Epcot in the first 5k of the race and will then turn north up World Drive and run through Magic Kingdom before heading for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Routes appear to be similar until runners exit Disney’s Animal Kingdom and instead of running down Osceola Parkway and around the (fairly boring) ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, runners will make a u-turn and head down Western Way towards a new destination – Blizzard Beach!

Here’s a closer look at the modified route. Runners will run through Blizzard Beach before heading for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A common route through Disney’s Hollywood Studios will eventually lead runners to the Epcot finish line via the Epcot Area Resorts route.

Good luck to all runners!
