As we approach what feels like another significant date in just a week, Disney is preparing for a swap of pretty epic proportions. MouseGear, the cornerstone retail space for Epcot, is going to be moving to a temporary space on January 5th. We made it out to Epcot today to take a look at the work Disney is doing to make the transition as painless as possible. Of course, moving the largest gift shop in the park is no easy feat. Here’s a look at how they’re preparing.

A new directional sign has been installed near the walkway to Mission: SPACE.

A closer look at the trash bag over the sign appears to show the outline of the same gear logo that we’re use to.

It looks like the northeast portion of Innoventions will serve as the main entrance to the temporary gift shop location. We anticipate a proper sign to be revealed here when it opens.

Inside the current MouseGear location, a rather temporary table is set up for some of the registers.

Some of the merchandise spaces have been cleared of their displays ahead of the move. For example, there use to be two long merchandise displays in the photo below where the t-shirt stand is now. We anticipate a slow move over the next few days, perhaps getting a unique view of some unused floor space.
