Second Man Tests Positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) After Walt Disney World Trip

According to reporting by WRCB, a man tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) after returning from a trip to Walt Disney World.

Nicholas Hickman said that he was originally treated for bronchitis after returning home from a trip to Walt Disney World. The 20 year old said he started experiencing flu-like symptoms after returning home from Walt Disney World.

Hickman said that he was not tested for COVID-19 at the facility in Georgia because there were no tests available. He said his symptoms worsened, including a fever of 104 degrees, chills, and muscle aches. A second facility was able to test Hickman and returned a positive test last Friday after a 5-day waiting period.

Hickman said that he feels like he’s getting better now and he will continue to self quarantine until April.

The report from WRCB did not note when Hickman visited Walt Disney World or where he stayed. Social media posts indicate a visit to Walt Disney World on March 9th and 10th. Disney announced a closure of the Walt Disney World and Disneyland theme parks on March 12th. The parks closed on March 16th and are currently scheduled to be closed through March 31st.
