Guests From Certain States and Regions Won’t Be Allowed into Disney World Until They Have Self-Isolated

Disney has recently released an extensive update on resorts, dining experiences, and more! If you want to read the entire update, check out our earlier post.

As part of the update, Disney has reaffirmed that guests who are under quarantine or isolation orders will not be allowed to visit Walt Disney World.

While that information seems like common sense, it bears repeating to guests who might be looking to visit the theme parks and resorts. More importantly, Disney has provided a link to a resource where guests can check the latest travel advisories. Here is the link: https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/travelers/

As of publish time, the following states are under a mandatory 14-day quarantine:

    • Connecticut
    • New York
    • New Jersey

Internationally, the Florida Health website points to the CDC recommendation map for advice for travelers. As of publish time, the CDC recommends that travelers avoid all nonessential travel to the following destinations. Most foreign nationals who have been in one of these countries during the previous 14 days will not be allowed to enter the United States.

By not compiling a list themselves, Disney is expecting the guest to do the proper amount of research about any restrictions that might affect their visit. For the theme parks to return to normal one day, it’s imperative that each and every guest knows the rules and follows them.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com for the latest Disney Parks news and photos. We’ll continue to bring you news and photos, where possible, through the Disney Parks closure due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will resume our normal coverage once the parks reopen to guests on July 11th!

    1. Ok so these people come down how are you going to know if they self quarantine?? I would think people are not going to care as long as they can come here

    2. I agree with you, and how will they know if they have been quarantined. Also being from New Jersey myself, who has 2 extra weeks to self quarantine in Florida before going into to the parks. It really should just be Florida residents only for a while. We will keep reinfecting each other if we don’t stop putting our wants before our needs. But just my opinion.

    3. Considering Florida’s COVID-29 rates are climbing higher than most states, all residents of Florida should also have to quarantine 14 days prior to being allowed in Disney World.

    4. I am from NY, Rochester, not New York City, we are going to enter phase 3 of opening. Big difference. No where NYC. Why do they think we are all the same.

    5. Not fair. New York City was the hot bed. I live in a county in New York STATE that had a total of about 100 cases. But because of NYC, we’re all guilty. Couldn’t Disney look at the states by regions?

    6. Really would be great of Disney would offer refunds to people they have already purchased tickets.

    7. COVID rates in Florida are now worse than those states. Need to keep the information up to date if they’re going to do this right.

    8. Are they gonna lock these people up for 2 weeks so they can isolate. There is no way this will happen.

    9. Don’t need to spend my money there anyway. They still plan on charging the usual amount when the whole park won’t be open and it will take longer to get in and out. No fireworks. Nope. I will keep my $100+/pp per day. Take a nice trip somewhere where they appreciate and reward customers coming back. Bye bye Disney.

    10. LOL
Wait til you get infected with an extremely contagious illness that is so new to man it remains barely understood, has killed more than 110,000 people in America in 5 months, and if it does not kill you can leave you on a ventilator for weeks and months, causing permanent organ damage, and leaving you (or your survivors) immense medical bills even if you have good health insurance. (Perhaps insurance companies should deny COVID coverage to people who can be proven to have deliberately disregarded safety precautions.) But hey, probably you’ll be one of the majority who get it and have no or mild symptoms. Good for you! Maybe you’ll only be a link in a chain leading to someone else’s terrible suffering or death. Maybe you’ll think about that person’s grieving family and LOL as you go about your self-assured life.

      • Mike it’s so scary knowing that people are not honest about where they’ve been because of their selfish desires. Leaves me terrified. I’m a native Floridian currently living in Colorado, split from my entire family, my daughter a native of Westchester County NY currently resides in Jacksonville Beach, and my sweet Mom who is 70 has been living about an hour north of Tampa and an hour West of Disney/Orlando. A place I love and consider my home. A few weeks back on the same day me and my mom both were feeling the same way. We both wondered.. “would we ever see family again?”
So people who don’t take the rules seriously, underst and that your family probably didn’t die. You probably hang out regularly. I’ve not seen my mom or my sweet baby girl in nearly a year. I miss my mom’s 70th birthday. My daughter was homeless in a car for 2 months with her boyfriend and 2 dogs and we all were helpless because we were unable to travel to her. Thankfully her situation worked out. Helping to advocate from a distance is impossible.
I pray daily for honesty and integrity from my neighbors. Peace & Love.

      • Mike How does not showing compassion and empathy to lol ignorance make us change these mind sets?

      • Ohhh… stop trying to be a hero.
The average age of cvoid 19 deaths is over the normal life expectancy.

The majority of all deaths have been confined to nursing homes and end of life facilities.

The vast vast vast majority of peolle have nothing to worry about.
The CDC has an estimated survival rate of 99.8 percent.
People need to look at their own risk factors and make their own decisions.
Maybe you are for marshal law and destroying the economy over something that will be seen as overblown in 5 years. But the majority are not. No matter how hard the media tries to shove this down our throat.
The media, btw.. who barely reports on covid 19 anymore. Wake up. Or better yet. Go hide

      • Hey… why not report facts Mike.
This rule expires in early July.
This will have zero effect on any guests coming in.

        • Check the rules for the rest of the year Nick. I understand your view on the economy, but company’s have to show they take precautions in order to keep their image. There is always a risk of infections of any kind (parasitic and bacterial from water sources even) but knowing they are taking precautions in their park is great and guests should be allowed to wear masks for protection against respiratory illnesses always.

    11. LOL
Think it’s funny that they are giving mandatory quarantine for 3 states that have a lower infection rate per day than Florida has.

    12. This whole thing is ridiculous! Just cancelled a trip for my wife and I next week for our anniversary because of this. We were going to go down and stay with friends for just 3 days and go to Disney Springs, but apparently that’s not permitted! Why? Because we are from NJ! It doesn’t matter that we live in South Jersey and are nowhere near where the Hotspot is, which is the NY/NJ metro area.

    13. I am a Florida Residence. FLORIDA has more cases and deaths than any other Southern State……so to be fair NO ONE FROM FLORIDA SHOULD BE IN ,THAT INCLUDES CAST MEMBERS….Disney World should NOT BE OPENING!

    14. Mayara, This mandatory quarantine order foe the tri state area is lifted July 7th.
So guests coming down, if they arrive after that date… don’t have to be quarantined for 14 days.
And in regards to masks. Putting a mask on a 2 year old in Florida heat isn’t safe. Its dangerous. End of story

    15. If you fly from PHL they don’t make you fill out the form. Only if your flight originates out of NY,NJ,CT.

Problem is once you are down there they will take your word that your current residence is not in NJ but Philadelphia. Disney and Universal are not going to look at your license and say. Hey you can’t be here. They have no idea how long you have been in Florida or where you have been for past 14 days. A lot of people have legal residence in one state and live in another.

Also, if you want to make it legal and legit in case heaven forbid you get sick while visiting and have to go to seek care. Just stay at friends or family in PA for 2 weeks. Sign a residence affidavit stating where and who you stayed with and have them sign it. Problem solved. The law states nothing about your drivers license just that your travel can not originate in those 3 states or be in those 3 states for past 14 days.

Disney and Universal are putting it on you to do research and it really is an honor system. They are not police and have no resources to really find out where you have been. The airports and state lines are monitoring for travel from those 3 States and giving out a form to fill out. Stating where you are coming from and if you are from those 3 states where you will be staying and a phone number to be reached. If you fly, by law they can only request you fill it out. Can’t make you due to flight regulations. If you drive they can make you.

    16. New York is a big state! Most of it had very low infection rates. Don’t penalize the whole state because of NYC. ?

    17. Living in the Southern half of NJ means we always fly out of PHL — our rates of infections in our part of NJ is much lower than the high-density Northern half of NJ, which are NYC suburbs. Besides, any self-quarantining from certain States is expiring by the time the Orlando Resorts are re-opening.

    18. Well that’s stupid. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are the only states they list. We are the states that followed a strict lock down and still have mandated “have to wear maks out in public”, are slowly starting to re-open and our numbers have dropped significantly yet many OTHER states are the ones with their #’s spiking.
