PeopleMover Continues Unexpected Downtime One Week After Magic Kingdom Reopening

It’s a bit hard to imagine, but we’re one week into Magic Kingdom’s phased reopening. After closing for over 100 days due to the global pandemic, Magic Kingdom opened one week ago today and while some attractions didn’t reopen for various reasons such as safety and ongoing union negotiations, the Tomorrowland PeopleMover simply doesn’t work.

As you might remember, the PeopleMover was having issues before the park closures. The PeopleMover has not been in operation since Magic Kingdom reopened on July 11th.

Cast Members remain optimistic about a reopening soon, but Disney has not offered a statement about the downtime or a timeline for a return to operation.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news and photos from around the Disney Parks.

  1. Glad we got to ride in February, although even then one of the escalator ramps was down and people had to go both up and down on the other one (which was of course not moving, tough on my partner with bad knees).
