Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer Rejects California Stance That Reopening Disneyland Isn’t Safe

A late-night statement was just released by Dr. Pamela Hymel, the Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer, seemingly in response to earlier statements made by California Governor Gavin Newsom saying that the state believes that they must follow a “health-first” framework that doesn’t include reopening theme parks in the immediate future.

Here’s what Newsom had to say about Disneyland wanting to reopen:

There’s disagreements in terms of opening a major theme park. We’re going to let science and data make that determination. I understand the friction and frustration that many business leaders have. That they want to move forward to reopen, but we’re going to be led by a health-first framework and we’re going to be stubborn about it.
Gavin Newsom, California Governor

Here’s the response from Hymel, which was just released.
