Great Ceremonial House Crossbeam Removal Begins This Week at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Starting this week, Disney will begin the process of removing some of the crossbeams that can be seen on top of the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

As we showed you earlier today, a large crane is on-site to assist with the removal, which will be done overnight when guests aren’t in the Great Ceremonial House. The work will take place Sunday – Thursday. As you may know by now, Disney has pushed back the closure of the monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort until early November. Here’s a look at the crossbeams from today.

As you can see in the concept art below, Disney isn’t completely removing all of the crossbeams, simply leaving fewer crossbeams in the final look for what they call a “cleaner design”.

  1. I’m excited to see the complete renovation and am hopeful that the it doesn’t drastically change the beauty of the resort!!!
