Large Crane Arrives at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort As Refurbishment Begins

Aloha! It’s a rainy afternoon in Walt Disney World, but we couldn’t help to spot a large crane residing at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as refurbishment begins.

As a reminder, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed until Summer 2021 as Disney adjusts the arrival experience and adds some Moana-inspired flare to the resort rooms. In this post, we’ll take a look at the large crane that will assist in the arrival experience overhaul. We’ll start with the concept art Disney released for the new arrival experience and modified monorail station.

Here’s a look at the crane and blocked off main entrance to the Great Ceremonial House. Check in has moved to the Pago Pago building in the meantime, but more on that later.

The crane is also visible from the pool area while retracted. It’s not hard to visualize what it might look like once it’s extended to full height.

Here’s a look at the crane from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
