The reflecting pool refurbishment in EPCOT’s World Celebration neighborhood appears to be nearing completion. We visited the park earlier today and found that crews have removed the metal staircase that had provided access. That is one of the clearest signs that work is winding down. River rock now covers the entire basin, and the reddish-brown finish spotted last month has been applied everywhere. Here’s a closer look.

Just Add Water
River rock was previously piled to one side of the drained pool. It now covers the floor from wall to wall as the work in the pool appears to be complete. The metal staircase that gave crews access to the pool is no longer in place. Here’s a look at the pool before Disney refills it, which should be any day now.
Story So Far
- On June 10th, we first noticed that crews had drained the World Celebration reflecting pool near the Imagination and Land pavilions, with the rocks pushed to one side of the basin and scaffolding in place for worker access.
- On June 23rd, we reported that crews had begun applying a new reddish-brown finish to the pool floor, with the coverage still incomplete and the original surface visible in several spots.
