Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island Refurbishment Extended to March 2021

Disney has recently updated their refurbishment calendar to reflect that the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island will remain closed for refurbishment through the end of February, reopening to guests on March 1, 2021. It should be noted that the March 1st reopening date is tentative at this point.

As we first reported, the Rivers of America will be drained as Disney cleans up the riverbed over the coming months. Here’s a look back at the last time Disney drained the Rivers of America to clean it.

Cast Members told BlogMickey.com that the work is definitely needed, as they’re able to tell that the riverbed is cluttered when piloting the Liberty Square Riverboat.

It’s worth noting that the work taking place now is different than the annual refurbishment of the Liberty Square Riverboat that typically lasts a week and was completed earlier this summer.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
