Affection Section to Reopen This Weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

If the Walt Disney World website is to be believed, Disney has plans on reopening the Affection Section animal interaction area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this weekend.

Here’s a comparison of the Disney World website from Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th, showing that the petting zoo has operating hours beginning November 15th. Operating hours are listed through mid-January.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the affection section was probably the singular public space on Walt Disney World property that heavily encouraged hand washing as guests were asked to wash their hands before and after interacting with the animals.

Disney World is reopening Harambe Market this weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in response to increased crowd levels. Could a reopening of the Affection Section be in the works as well? Let us know what you think in the comments or on social media.
