This morning, hundreds of guests flooded Disney Springs to experience the Grand Opening of Gideon’s Bakehouse. The bakehouse, which opened late last year for a “soft opening” period before closing again, has drawn long lines for their nearly 1/2lb cookies. As you can see in the photos and time-lapse video below, the line of guests wrapped through Disney Springs before being cut off for the day. The final guests were quoted an 11-hour wait, which would get them in the doors just before Disney Springs closes this evening.
The location utilizes a virtual queue to allow guests to better plan their day. The line you see above was simply the line to enter the virtual queue. A short, 10-minute queue awaits guests once their return time is called via text.
The big prize (besides delicious cookies)? A free poster handed out at the first 1,000 transactions.
Gideon’s Bakehouse is now open daily at Disney Springs from open to close!
