Disney Continues to Remove Temporary Supports from TRON Lightcycle Run Canopy “Upload Conduit”

With the skeleton of the TRON Lightcycle Run canopy completed, Disney is continuing the process of removing temporary construction supports from the length of the canopy. On a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we took to the skies of Tomorrowland on the Astro Orbiter to get an elevated look at the work. Here’s a look around!

Interestingly enough, both the main entrance to the attraction (right) and gift shop (left) remain weather sealed – perhaps indicating that the rumors of a pending construction pause are still in play.

We still haven’t seen anything from Disney about the topping off of the attraction, but the American Flag continues to fly.

Disney has said that the TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster “is set to open at Magic Kingdom Park in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021”. Disney has not shared an exact opening date or even season in which the roller coaster is expected to open beyond the official statement above. Disney has not directly said that TRON will miss the above stated timeline, but has scrubbed both TRON Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind from their list of things they’re excited to see open this year.
