One of the most high-profile refurbishments of 2021 was the full overhaul of the Gran Fiesta Tour animatronics of Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito. At one point, “cardboard” cutouts of the figures were on display as Disney undertook a multi-month rebuild of the faltering animatronics.
Eventually, the animatronics were restored and all was right in the world again.
Now, it looks like Disney is working on the attraction again as two skeletons are missing from the ride.
Here’s a look at what the town celebration scene is supposed to look like.
Here’s a look at the bridge and remaining skeletons as of today. Cast Members that we spoke with said that the skeletons are on vacation, and should return refreshed soon.
The skeletons are actually animatronics, but they were not moving when we rode this morning. It’s possible that Disney is refreshing the mechanics of the missing skeletons to restore the party.
