As we wrote yesterday, Tower of Terror is currently experiencing reduced capacity as crews work on one side of the two-track attraction. As a result of the halved capacity, wait times have shot up in the past two weeks – higher than expected even for some of the higher-than-average crowd levels we’ve seen at Walt Disney World this year.

Now, Cast Members are estimating that the work will take roughly 6 months. That means that Tower of Terror wait times will be roughly doubled when compared to what you may be used to. From what we could observe, it looks like the left side of the attraction elevator drop shaft is the one receiving refurbishment.

Disney has not formally announced a refurbishment and operating hours are normal for the attraction as its able to keep running due to the split track layout.
