Yesterday, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalacade debuted at Magic Kingdom, but before we watched the new parade, we took a spin on the Tomorrowland PeopleMover for an updated look at the TRON Lightcycle Run construction progress. The installation of the canopy roof continues at an impressive pace, but we’ll start our article with an update for fans of the Walt Disney World Railroad.
We saw the first of what appears to be the forms that will shape the concrete tunnel that the Walt Disney World Railroad will pass through. First, here’s a look at updated concept art showing the tunnel.
Here’s a look at the form – one of many that appear to be staged for the start of construction of the tunnel on the Space Mountain side of the attraction.
Here’s a wider view, showing the form erected in the middle of the image.
Backing up a bit, let’s take a look at the roof installation, which has begun on the westernmost side of the canopy. Here’s a view of the construction site, just east of the Tomorrowland Speedway.
As we can see, most of the canopy roof work has been taking place on the right side of the canopy, but it has recently expanded.
Traffic cones and swimming pool noodles indicate snag points.
While the outside of the canopy roof isn’t themed, we captured a sneak peek at the underside of the canopy, which has theming to look techy and futuristic – like a circuit board design.

Finally, here’s a look at a building that will likely house a restroom for the attraction. This building is at the top of the ramp that leads to the attraction.
