After we first reported about a Car Locator feature coming to the My Disney Experience app back in April, Disney has rolled out a new update to the app (7.11) that contains the feature. Here’s a look at how to use it, and how accurate it might be.
In order to find the Car Locator feature, you can either find it below the Virtual Queue information on the home page (if you’re on or near Walt Disney World property), or you can hit the ☰ symbol and find it in the menu.
From there, you will be presented with the option to save your vehicle’s location. If you’re too far away, or if the Car Locator functionality thinks you’re too far away, you will be presented with a prompt that asks you to manually enter your location.
Here’s a look at how you would manually enter your location.
If you’re already in a supported parking lot and the Car Locator recognizes that, the app will automatically select the location and lot or garage that it thinks you’re in.
In our testing, the Car Locator was rather consistently off by about three rows in the EPCOT parking lot. Furthermore, it won’t pinpoint where you have parked within a row, it will just tell you what row you’re in. Ultimately, it’s a nice addition, but probably not really something that should’ve taken manpower away from other things within the My Disney Experience app.
Make sure to update the My Disney Experience app to the latest version to use the Car Locator.
