Darth Vader and Chewbacca Meet and Greets NOW OPEN in Star Wars Launch Bay at Hollywood Studios

The Commander is on the bridge. The Darth Vader and Chewbacca meet and greets have soft opened in the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios one week before their official return on July 17th.

Guests can head over to the Star Wars Launch Bay to encounter Darth Vader on the bridge of the Death Star and get a hug from Chewbacca in a Resistance hide out. We were the first guests to meet with each this morning and have some photos to share from the encounter.

It’s worth noting that the meet and greets are both currently in soft opening, which means that they might close at any point. The meet and greet spaces are also still being adjusted with a lack of proper lighting being the most notable issue this morning. Here’s a look!

BB-8 was not meeting with guests this morning, but Cast Members expect that he will return for meet and greets on July 17th. Cast Members also said that there are no plans to implement Lightning Lane for the meet and greets and that their inclusion on the Genie+ page on the Walt Disney World website was an error.
