Crews have begun dismantling the ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk. Theming elements from the roof are the first to go, with work expected to last over the coming weeks. The space will be utilized by The Cake Bake Shop. An opening date for The Cake Bake Shop has not been announced. Here’s a look at the work.

Wait… so they’re putting in a bake shop next to a bakery and an ice cream shop?? Overkill much?
Ridiculous indeed – we always enjoyed ESPN – they had a great wedge salad
There killing this place.
I’m so upset with this. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t keep the ESPN Club? It was always busy and it was the greatest place on property to watch football games if you happen to be there during football season and didn’t want to miss your team play. And it was super convenient because after you could just walk over to Epcot. Someone please tell me why they did this?
Disney just keeps taking steps backwards.. this place was legendary for me as a sports fan, and when families were on vacation this was the spot to catch you’re hometown playoff game.. this is extremely sad
Boardwalk is a DVC property I purchased there due in part to ESPN being there in 1999. They pulled out but the theme of a boardwalk is fun not pastries Very disappointed to say the least unless of course this bakery has a bar and drinks to go
That area needs another restaurant, not a cake shop.
